Register of Interest Ophthalmology Clinic Joint Venture Partnership - Operations Director
Newmedica is the leading provider of NHS funded and private Ophthalmology services in the UK and we are growing at pace, aiming to achieve national coverage in the next five years. Everything we do is guided by our commitment to deliver personal patient care, so we are looking for Operations Partners to join a newly launched Joint Venture Partnership, who feel as passionately about patient care as we do.
As a director managing your own independent eye hospital alongside a team of Clinical Directors – all of whom are Consultant Ophthalmologists, the Operations Joint Venture Partner manages the practice by delivering continually improving operational excellence. Through the training and development of your staff to the highest professional standards, you will provide efficient care of the highest quality for patients which in turn will contribute to creating a successful business.
Working in collaboration with your Clinical Joint Venture Partners, you have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring clinical safety and excellent care which will lead to its long-term growth and success.
As a Joint Venture Partner you will use your people management skills to engender a culture of quality, performance and world-class service. Your aim is to provide patients with the highest degree of professional care and optimum outcomes.
Motivating your team with a hands-on approach is a key function of your role, as is providing the leadership and direction required in a busy environment. You have the autonomy to use your experience to run your business, whilst relying on the full support and guidance of the Newmedica Support Office team.
You will be the Care Quality Commission Registered Manager for the practice and will therefore be accountable for the day-to-day delivery of regulated activities for your local operating subsidiary and be fundamental to providing positive outcomes for the patients using your service. Therefore you must have experience working within a clinical setting, ideally having been a Registered Manager previously.
About you
We are looking forward to speaking to individuals who would like to learn more about the Joint Venture Partnership opportunity with operational healthcare delivery experience, managing theatres (or equivalent from other care provision sectors.) You must have previous experience of working with Consultants/Doctors and demonstrate successfully managing large teams of people. You need to have a good understanding of CQC regulations, the new framework, and what good governance looks like. You must be able to work both operationally and strategically and switch between both when needed. You must be able to demonstrate a commercial mindset with previous experience of managing P&L and budgets. Whilst previous experience in ophthalmology would be an advantage it is not essential as you will have the opportunity for a full and comprehensive induction plan covering all aspects of ophthalmology and eyecare.
The shareholders’ loan each partner is to contribute is currently £50,000 per partner, which is repayable after 3 years with the opportunity to accrue on this loan.
