The catering assistant will undertake, under the general direction of the cook or catering manager, the preparation, simple cooking and serving of food within the required areas in a residential care home. Duties will include basic food and beverage preparation (for example preparation of vegetables and snacks), simple cooking (for example reconstruction/heating of prepared food), serving of meals, general kitchen and serving duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and hot trollies) and the cleaning of the kitchen its surrounds and equipment., The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
