Azenta Life Sciences designs, manufactures, and markets consumables and bench top instrumentation for the life sciences industry, developing a range of innovative products for PCR & sequencing, imaging, plate sealing, liquid handling, forensic, and NGS sample processing.
The team is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to be based in Wotton, Surrey.
Job Purpose:
The Quality Inspector is tasked with supporting the timely turnaround of products, manufactured and procured. Assisting manufacturing as we strive toward zero defects by conducting audits and random sampling, working with a quality-first mindset to ensure the customer receives products that exceed their expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Completing part inspection on products produced in-house and by sub-contractors.
2. Measuring parts using callipers, micrometres, and CMM.
3. Creating graphs in Excel to enable comparison of QC results.
4. Updating Excel spreadsheets.
5. Completing inventory transactions in the ERP.
6. Assisting the production team as required, including completing first-off production checks.
7. Raising re-work instructions and checking the quality of the re-work, occasionally completing re-work.
8. Working in the biological QC lab running product functional tests (experience not required).
9. Investigating customer complaints.
10. Raising & investigating non-conformance.
11. Assisting with document control.
12. Conducting process audits.
13. Assisting in data reviews and KPI updates.
14. Working in special conditions as necessary: clean rooms; low humidity; or static-free environments.
15. Assisting in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
16. Assisting in CAPA and complaint activities as required.
17. Tasks related to continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Previous quality control experience is required.
2. Experience with using CMM is desirable.
3. Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
4. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication skills are essential to the role.
6. The role requires you to work within a team.
