We are recruiting an electrically qualified Service Technician to be based in the North West of the UK covering the area of Cumbria – Carlisle, Kendal, Penrith (M6/A66 Corridor). Due to our customer base, candidates need to be eligible to attain UK SC clearance. You will report to the Operations Manager. The role of a Service Technician is within the department of Industrial Service, offering maintenance and service solutions for all crane brands. Your role will involve the maintenance and upgrade of our customers' lifting equipment. The work we offer is varied and two days are never the same. You will: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electric overhead travelling cranes Trouble- shooting equipment breakdowns. Consult with customers on repair and safety related issues. Complete appropriate documentation through your mobile device. What we are looking for in you: We ask that you are apprentice-trained or equivalent and conversant with electrical engineering disciplines. Engineering experience: Electrical: 415v ac 3 phase motor contactor control circuits both squirrel cage and wound rotor. An understanding of 110/48 volt relay and contactor circuits. Some frequency speed control device experience. Mechanical: Medium to large drive couplings, brakes and reduction gearboxes. Health and Safety knowledge Experience maintaining overhead cranes and hoists Based on 39 hours p/w Mon-Fri. You will climb a ladder and able to work at heights Willingness to work extra hours – this attracts paid overtime - we pay double time at the weekend Hold a current driving license Willingness to work on the On-Call Rota with enhanced premium Due to the location of our customers, you ‘ll be away from home approximately 30 nights per year – accommodation, travel and subsistence will be provided.
