Location: Sedgefield or Leeds
Purpose
To provide end to end mechanical engineering leadership for microwave and RF subsystem projects.
Summary Of Responsibilities
1. Creating models and drawings using 3D CAD in Solidworks.
2. Responsible for the management and control of engineering drawings and documents in accordance with Drawing Office standards and methods.
3. To compile manufacturing documentation and support reliability analysis and testing.
4. Management of changes through the ECN procedures.
5. Creating drawings according to ISO and BS standards.
6. Development of drawings for machined, punched, cast, or moulded parts.
7. Investigation of new suppliers for existing and new technologies for cost reduction.
8. Investigation of new materials and processes.
9. Contribute to design reviews as part of the company ISO process.
10. Review of mechanical properties of parts and assemblies (thermal, mechanical stress, etc.) using 3D analysis software.
11. Design of jigs and fixtures.
12. Responsible for the upkeep and improvement of existing generic process, maintenance, and standards documentation.
13. Deployment of manufacturing documentation using the current systems in place.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. Degree (equivalent) in mechanical engineering, with 3+ years industrial experience.
2. 2D and 3D Solid modelling experience (Solidworks preferred).
3. 3D Thermal and Stress Analysis, using finite element modelling tools.
4. Knowledge of machining, casting, moulding, coating, and plating processes (2D & 3D).
5. Knowledge of RoHS and WEEE compliance.
6. Must be a highly motivated individual able to interface effectively with internal & external customers.
The successful candidate must achieve the relevant security clearance to undertake this role.
