Job summary The Estates Department is looking for a Mechanical Craftsperson with a background preferably gained in building services or healthcare environment to join the Maintenance Team. The vacancy will be based at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke; however the role can include work on any of the Trust sites. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will be required to carry out planned and reactive mechanical works inclusive of repair, maintenance and minor improvement to the building and hospital facilities, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for staff and visitors. Ideally, candidates should possess a relevant mechanical qualification of NVQ level 3 or equivalent C&G and have completed a structured training programme, however, a development role will be considered for the right applicant with additional training given to enable them to fully meet the person specification. The successful applicant will require good communication skills. An empathetic approach to staff and patients, be adaptable, willing to learn new skills and be able to work independently as well as part of the team.
