Description ABOUT YOU As the Laboratory Technician, you will be based within a client team who are responsible for managing workloads and assigning tasks. Required skills and experience: Degree or HND in science / engineering, preferable but not a requirement. Hands on practical experience. An interest in engineering. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY An opportunity has arisen for a laboratory technician to work within our client’s component testing facility. The role involves testing of components using bespoke equipment and reporting of data using Excel. The testing ranges from new development parts, manufacturing quality control and end of life components. Key activities: Preparation and testing of predominantly turbine components to determine flow rate through cooling holes, completion of associated quality control activities, and reporting of results within the scope of the laboratory. Assessment is carried out using a variety of specially designed rigs. Duties may also include application of problem solving to resolve practical issues associated with component geometries and rig design.
