The Role

Reporting to the Credit Director, you'll play a key strategic role in ensuring we are data-led in decision making and recommend improvements to policies and processes. You'll ensure that we have a detailed understanding of the credit portfolio performance. You'll also look externally at markets and the economy to ensure that we adapt and operate within agreed parameters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain effective monitoring and reporting of Credit Risk
2. Track and report loan book performance and key Credit Risk metrics, providing portfolio analysis and modelling
3. Assist the Credit Director in developing and maintaining Credit Risk models to make decisions, manage and monitor credit quality and credit performance
4. Provide credit insights and real-time advice to the Credit Director and Exco to improve underwriting and Credit Risk management, as well as developing and managing decision strategies and KPIs to retain the portfolio within agreed risk appetite levels
5. Review external markets and information to understand the influences impacting the portfolio, making recommendations as appropriate
6. Facilitate the production of MI and analysis as well as ensuring that committee material and key reporting is accurate and undertaken on a timely basis. You'll also participate in committees as required.

To be successful as our Portfolio Credit Risk Manager you will have demonstrable experience within a bank or lending environment and experience of portfolio credit risk analysis and management.
1. Extensive analytical and presentation skills
2. Experience of developing and managing credit risk management information
3. The ability to deliver insightful reporting, root cause analysis and solutions
4. Experience of managing and developing credit risk rating and provisioning models
5. Aware of banking systems and databases and the ability to interact with them via data visualisation and modelling tools.
