We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Operations Manager within our Operations team to help support our Aerospace business. At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. Core Responsibilities
* The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in engaging people and leading from the front, building a business culture that can sustain continuous improvement.
* Co-ordinate and control the entire manufacturing process, working closely with other departments such as Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Health & Safety to ensure continued delivery of the manufacturing plan.
* Lead and support the Production Team Leaders to prioritise daily work while striving to increase productivity.
* Support, monitor, and drive improvement initiatives through daily WIP walks and Scrums to ensure optimised teamwork and performance.
* Lead improvements to support production scheduling in determining the manpower needed to cover production demand.
* Work closely with the Planning Manager to ensure all resource groups are aligned with Epicor.
* Lead data collation and analysis to maintain current operational metrics with an aim to improve and introduce new metrics as the business matures.
* Manage and develop the use of ERP systems for improvements on production schedules and lead times.
* Support the business in projects and initiatives to increase manufacturing efficiency and delivery performance.
* Create a highly trained, flexible, and engaged team aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety, Quality, and Financial Performance.
* Ensure adherence to the company’s vision, values, behaviours and procedures.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Skills:
* The ability to motivate and empower people to perform the manufacturing process with excellence.
* In-depth business acumen with a proven track record.
* Proven leadership skills in a growth and change-based manufacturing environment.
* Strong technical background in Engineering to understand production line requirements.
* Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
* Extensive experience in liaising with customers, including organising and chairing meetings.
* Proven ability to build relationships and drive results through internal partnerships.
* Ability to respond to change, with strong multi-tasking skills.
* Self-motivated with proven experience in problem solving and project management.
* Experience in people management and handling employee relations matters.
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
Education:
Higher education, ideally degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline, or a combination of relevant education and work experience.
