Security Officer Contract: Government Location: Darlington, DL1 5BF Hours of work: 48 Working Pattern: Saturday; 07:00 - 19:00, Sunday; 07:00 - 19:00, Monday; 19:00 - 07:00, Tuesday; 19:00 - 7:00 Contract Type: Permanent Hourly Rate: £12.50 As Security Officer, you are required to work with an existing team at an Office facility located in the centre of Darlington. The role will require support for absences, annual leave and ad-hoc work with opportunities to complete overtime on a regularly basis. Duties and responsibilities include authenticating right of access, conducting internal and external patrols, following site specific procedures, assisting in all emergency incidents, managing onsite administration, and maintaining the highest standards of security service and customer care. The Security Officer will manage all day-to-day Control Room operations and report all incidents which may affect occupants. You will maintain a constant vigil on all remote building alarm and CCTV systems, initiate appropriate communications and responses, and provide front of house services and internal/external building patrols as required. The Role Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Premises Security Manual Able to administer first aid Support the Security Control Room. Monitor CCTV and direct staff to issues of assistance, breaches or other normal duties. Assist staff and visitors to site Greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out Ensure all H&S policies are adhered to Ensure that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas Maintain an accurate record of any incidents that occur Requirements A valid Frontline SIA license (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) Ability to gain BPSS and SC clearance Able to administer first aid (first aid at work preferred, however, training will be provided where applicable) Fully comprehensive 5 year work/education history; including full company names, addresses and landline contact numbers About You Must be punctual and have the ability to think on their feet Reliable with excellent time-management skills Smart, well-groomed and confident A commitment to providing first class customer service is essential Good report writing skills High level of Customer Care Awareness Security systems knowledge Telephone/switchboard skills IT literacy would be an advantage The Company ISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
