Responsibilities include:
* Prepare and assess Partner loan applications for underwriter approval.
* Manage Change of Trading (CoT) status requests, ensuring loans are re-underwritten before any transfer.
* Analyse business sale and purchase performance, ensuring timely settlement of payments.
* Coordinate with SJP Legal to prepare lending deeds and documents, ensuring compliance with FCA, CCA, and Companies House.
* Collaborate with external lenders to optimise fund usage in line with critical metrics and targets.
* Provide analytical insights into borrower financials, including revenue trends, costs, and financial projections.
* Build positive relationships with internal collaborators and the SJP Partnership to support loan discussions and decisions.
Who we're looking for:
* Experience in lending or banking environments with knowledge of personal and business lending.
* Strong understanding of trading entities, tax structures, and affordability calculations.
* Familiarity with the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) and personal lending regulations.
* Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel (knowledge of lookups is advantageous).
* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret data.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
* Excellent time management skills to meet important timeframes and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Professional communication skills, capable of handling critical financial conversations with tact and discretion.
* Experience in UK financial services or accounting is desirable.
* Curiosity about progressing through ACCA/CIMA or other relevant studies.
Why Join Us?
* Gain hands-on experience in business and commercial lending within a leading financial services organisation.
* Work in a dynamic and encouraging team environment.
* Opportunity to grow your career in banking, finance, or accounting.
* Contribute to high impact projects that directly support the growth of our Partner network.
What's in it for you?
* Private Medical paid for by Company.
* Meaningful protection benefits with real value, such as 10X life cover, PHI, and critical illness.
* Non-Contributory Pension – 10% (increasing with length of service up to 15%) with further pension matching.

* 28 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays (based on full-time equivalent) with the option to buy up to an additional 5 days holiday.
Flexible Working

We have introduced a hybrid working policy to provide greater flexibility for part-time work, job-sharing, remote working, and flexibility on hours. Our people are encouraged to work in a flexible way that suits their lifestyle, so please ask the question and start a conversation!
Research tells us that applicants (especially those from underrepresented groups) can be put off from applying for a role if they do not meet all the criteria or have been on an extended career break. If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience please apply, regardless of whether you tick every box.
Reasonable Adjustments
We're an equal opportunities employer and want to ensure our recruitment process is accessible and inclusive for all. If you require reasonable adjustments at any stage please let us know by emailing us at careers@sjp.co.uk.
What's next?
