Who we’re looking for
This is an opportunity to join the European Fixed Income trading desk. Initially, the role will be to learn credit products and the individual should have a proven interest in financial markets. They will be able to demonstrate solid decision making, an attention to detail and an ability to work well under pressure. They should work well as part of a team and be able to form and manage good relationships internally and with external counterparties.

The team
European Fixed Income Dealing
What you’ll do
1. Execute on behalf of portfolio managers across a wide range of financial instruments including corporate and government bonds, CDS, futures, loans, ILS and convertible bonds.
2. Manage the communication and placement of new issues and assist in achieving good allocations.
3. Develop a thorough understanding of the application, pricing and characteristics of a broad range of financial instruments.
4. Work with existing traders to improve processes and highlight weaknesses.
5. Develop and build productive relationships with our counterparties to help achieve best execution and develop a deep market knowledge.
6. Be able to communicate clearly and accurately to PMs, analysts, other traders and brokers regarding liquidity and market conditions.
7. Maintain knowledge of developments in financial markets, regulation and technology.
8. Over time be able to assess trade ideas for their suitability.
9. Help develop the desk ability to consume and use market data to improve pre-trade processes.
10. Work with data, tech and trading platforms to enhance current processes and products.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
1. A business, finance or related University degree.
2. A comprehensive knowledge of fixed income products.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Good Excel and data analysis skills.
5. A meticulous attention to detail.
6. An ability to work well under pressure.
7. A passion for financial markets and a desire to learn.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with other traders, portfolio managers, research analysts.
9. Strong work ethics.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
1. Aladdin skills.
2. Bloomberg, Tradeweb (general awareness of trading platforms).
3. An understanding of best execution practices would be a benefit.
4. CFA or other relevant financial qualifications.
