Cansford Laboratories is a state-of-the-art hair and blood testing laboratory for drugs and alcohol markers, based in Cardiff. Cansford Laboratories is a market leader in the latest methods of drug and alcohol testing, with a team that has pioneered hair testing for over 25 years. Today, the laboratory offers a modern, fast, class-leading service.
We are looking for a full-time entry-level laboratory technician to join our dynamic, innovative team. The successful candidate will have impeccable attention to detail, be reliable, responsible, and accountable. Able to work independently, you will also be a team player with excellent organisational skills.
Reporting to our laboratory management team, the main duties of the role will include:
1. Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
2. Preparation of laboratory solutions
3. Replenishment of chemicals
4. Archiving and disposal of samples as required
5. General laboratory procedures and housekeeping
6. Supporting other members of staff in their work as appropriate or as directed by management
In return, we offer competitive rates of pay, up to a 6-month probationary period (during which all training will be provided by members of our highly qualified team), and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. You will also be enrolled into our pension scheme.
You will be expected to make yourself available for work between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm for a 35-hour week rota pattern.
Cansford also has an optional working rota, where the normal working day is extended slightly to fit 15 days into 14. If you wish to join the rota, you will have an extended weekend every 3 weeks.
