As an Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will integrate into the established Acute Care Advanced Practice team, working across medical and surgical boundaries and be the first responder to acutely unwell adults. You will be responsible for full clinical assessment, initiating investigations, formulating management plans and undertaking appropriate first line interventions. The Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioners rotate through both Woodland view /Ayrshire Central Hospital and Biggart Hospital. In addition you will rotate through both Acute Hospital Night areas at University Hospital Ayr and Crosshouse. This rotation allows the development and maintenance of the skill set required for ANP’s in keeping with transforming nursing roles. For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: You should hold a degree level nursing qualification, with current NMC registration and be able to evidence highly developed specialist knowledge to Masters equivalent level, with significant comprehensive post registration experience within the acute care setting, some of which must be at a senior level. A Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice, along with a nurse independent prescribing qualification will be required for this post. You will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering innovative and creative solutions to underpin service delivery. Applicants who partially meet the essential criteria will be considered for a trainee Band 7 ( AfC Annex 21 applies ) and where required, you will be provided with a programme of training during your initial period of employment, specifically around – managing the acutely unwell adult, physical health assessment, advanced life support and area specific training.
