FACULTY POSITION, DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE, DIVISION OF NEPHROLOGY – TRANSPLANT NEPHROLOGY. Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University is now accepting applications for a full-time, employed faculty Transplant position in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology. Come practice transplant nephrology in the state-of-the-art, brand new Honickman Center!
The Division of Nephrology is seeking an incumbent to contribute to and enhance the educational and clinical activities of the section of Transplant Nephrology by providing compassionate, efficient, high-quality consultative patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings and support the research goals of the division and department.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Caring for pre- and post-kidney transplant patients and living kidney donors in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
2. Schedule to include some weeks of inpatient dialysis, and coverage for general consultative services.
3. Shared on-call coverage with the Nephrology Faculty team.
4. Involvement in multi-disciplinary listing committees, journal clubs, QAPI meetings, and patient review meetings.
5. Engage in clinical, teaching, and research missions of TJU.
6. Develop educational materials and provide instruction to fellows, residents, nurses, students, and other staff involved in transplant patient care.
7. Engage in outreach activities with satellite coverage, community physicians, dialysis centers, and other groups.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. MD/DO degree or equivalent Board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
2. Direct experience in managing complex inpatients and outpatients.
3. Completed fellowship in transplant nephrology or proven specialized experience in transplant nephrology.
4. Possess a license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania by the time the appointment starts.
5. Interest in teaching and growth in an academic setting.
