Job Description
Deliver a high standard of swimming instruction within the Councils learn to swim scheme and to undertake all associated tasks in relation to this.
This role may require flexible, evening and weekend working.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
There are 5 posts available with various hours.
Post 1 & 2 hours are set to cover Adult & Child and Preschool swimming lessons, so there is a requirement that instructors should ideally hold an Early Years Swimming Teacher Qualification. However, applicants with a SSTQ or Level 1 equivalent qualification may be considered, if there is a willingness in to upskill to Adult & Child instruction.
While the positions are initially advertised as temporary with a 12-month contract, there is potential for them to become permanent depending on business needs. Additionally, there will be opportunities to pick up extra hours on a relief basis.
Post 1: 6 hours
Monday: 9.30-11.30 & 11.45-13.45
Tuesday: 9.30-11.30
Post 2: 6 hours
Thursday: 9.30-11.30 & 11.45-13.45
Friday: 12.00-14.00
Post 3
Tuesday: 16.30-19.00
Post 4
Wednesday: 16.00-18.30
Post 5
Friday: 16.00-18.30
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
