Reporting to the Associate Director or Associate Engineer, you will lead large structural engineering project teams or oversee multiple smaller teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality structural solutions. This role requires strong technical leadership and project management skills, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, and quality objectives while driving innovation and best practices across the business.
We are looking for an experienced and well-rounded structural engineer with extensive expertise in structural engineering, including large-scale building structures, foundation design, and multidisciplinary project coordination. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex projects across multiple sectors.
Key objectives:
1. Ensure project teams deliver structural designs to cost, schedule, and quality criteria.
2. Provide leadership to ensure project teams have the appropriate skills and resources.
3. Ensure compliance with business quality and management systems.
4. Implement strategic changes as directed by senior leadership.
Skills & Experience
1. Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer (CEng MICE/MIStructE) with at least 3-6 years post-chartership experience.
2. Extensive experience leading the delivery of large-scale structural engineering projects.
3. Strong technical knowledge of structural design methods, codes, and standards.
4. Proven ability to manage and mentor multidisciplinary project teams.
5. Experience with foundation design and structural engineering principles.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Familiar with CDM regulations and health & safety requirements.
8. SC clearance (or eligibility to achieve this).
9. Full, clean UK driving licence.
10. Experience delivering projects within nuclear, defence, public sector, highways, or complex industrial sectors.
11. Knowledge of seismic design, ground improvement techniques, and advanced structural analysis.
12. Familiarity with technical assurance processes and regulatory compliance.
