The provision of a high-quality clinical pharmacy service within the Division (Gastroenterology - General and Specialist Medicine (GSM)) which meets the needs of patients and healthcare professionals within and associated with the Trust.
The post holder is responsible for:
1. Developing and implementing medicine management systems concerned with the speciality.
2. Management of patients receiving biologics therapies and high risk oral, parenteral, and antiviral therapies (including immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory therapies).
3. Provide/Support specialist clinics & advice within the speciality.
4. Prescribing of specialist medications for gastroenterological conditions where indicated. Practitioner is currently registered with their relevant professional body, complies with the Trusts non-medical prescribing policy and only prescribes within their scope of practice.
5. Produce and update policies, procedures and guidelines relating to drug treatment within Gastroenterology.
6. Line manage nominated pharmacy professionals.
7. Educational supervision of other pharmacy professionals working towards their professional qualifications.
