The successful applicant will join a workforce of consultants, which are planned to expand in line with College of Emergency Medicine recommendations.
The post holder will participate fully in the provision of Emergency Medicine including clinical governance and the delivery of both Trust and Department of Health Clinical Quality Indicators. The posts will be based in the Emergency Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

ClinicalResponsibilities
Demonstrate strong clinical leadership when working clinically across the many areas of the department delivering excellent and high-quality patient care and supporting the shift leader in the management of patient flow and activity through the department. The areas of the department comprise.
5 bedded Resuscitation, 12 bedded Majors,5 cubicle space Rapid Assessment and Treatment area, GP Streaming area, 5 space Minors and walk in assessment area Paediatrics Decisions Unit, and 5 space Emergency Observation Unit.
Work collaboratively with other clinical colleagues to further reform the urgent and emergency care pathway.
Attend internal and external Stake Holder meetings as required.
MedicalEducationandTraining
Participate in the professional supervision, management and teaching of the staff within the Emergency Department.
ClinicalAuditandClinicalGovernance
Participate in clinical audit across the department in line with Trust policy and guidelines Implement audit and research findings across the department.
Comply with the Trust clinical governance processes in a timely manner.
· The department arranges monthly academic half days focussing on lessons learnt, new developments in the field of emergency medicine and longitudinal case audits. The event is streamed live for all the team members to be able to watch from home as well as to watch it at a later time.

Supporting Professional Activities are undertaken by all Consultants in a collaborative manner based on SDU needs. We strongly encourage people to develop sub specialist interest according to the needs of the department.
