Homerton Healthcare are looking for a dynamic nurse who can help develop the Nutrition service at Homerton Healthcare. This role is an integral member of the gastroenterology and nutrition team, providing specialist care for patients requiring nutrition support (oral, enteral, and parenteral).
The post holder will join a small but energetic and innovative Nutrition and gastroenterology team, primarily assisting gastroenterology consultants, dietitians, and nursing staff to provide safe and effective care for patients on artificial nutrition, supporting the nutrition support team in weekly meetings and assisting with discharges.
This is a fresh and exciting role, and Homerton Healthcare is keen for the new post holder to thrive and become embedded within the Homerton family.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with dietitians in developing the service and supporting patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. They will support the development of policies, procedures, and clinical protocols related to the service (i.e., parenteral/enteral nutrition, management of central line catheters). They will participate in Nutrition MDT meetings, contributing to discussions and treatment planning/referral decisions. The post holder will act as a role model in expert practice, facilitating and supporting the delivery of direct care for patients.
