Post Definition/Purpose
The post holder is responsible for working to strict safety and quality requirements to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer requirements with some supervision from a Team-Leader.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote a culture of working safely by working in a safe manner at all times complying with company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities, for example submitting suggestions to improve the process flow to increase the production cell efficiency or improve health & safety on the shop-floor.
• Support 5s activities throughout the shop-floor (Sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain).
• To follow instructions to ensure maximum effectiveness and to adhere to safety guidelines.
• Actively participate in training and development activities identified for either personal and/or team development advancement.
• To be prepared to undertake and support other reasonable requests made by the company.
• Dispatching goods to the customer.
• Unloading & loading Lorries.
• Moving stock within a tight deadline.
• Identify, scan stock labels and move parts so they are accessible to production operatives/cell team leaders.
• Locating stock internally and feeding to cellular areas.
• Produce dispatch notes using MRP system.
• Work within a team to meet deadlines given.
Skills & Abilities
• Previous busy factory/manufacturing experience is desirable.
• Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete required production paper-work.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Must hold a Counterbalance forklift license for at least 2 years, which is transferable from company to company and is a current RTITB registered license.
• Ability to work safely.
• Must be time-flexible.
• Able to work within tight deadlines and with minimum supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
• Previous experience in Automotive Manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Must have an excellent time and attendance record.
• Experience of working in a logistics/distribution or warehouse environment desirable.
• Ability to work at speed safely.
• Must have held a fork lift truck/warehouse role for at least 12 months.
Package
• 25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays
• 37.5 hour week working Monday to Friday.
• Fixed Term contract ongoing.

• Overtime (up to 1.5 hours compulsory overtime per day depending on business need)
• £12.21 per hour AM shift
• £14.65 per hour PM shift

• Working a 2-shift rotating pattern.
AM – 06.00am – 14.50pm - Monday to Thursday
06.00am – 12.10pm - Friday
PM – 14.50pm – 23:55am – Monday to Thursday
12.10pm – 18.40pm – Friday
