The business has shown consistent growth and is constantly developing new systems to maintain their competitive advantage in existing markets. The Role: Ensure that all operatives and staff within the factory comply with GMP and hygiene procedures and to advise and give training when this is not the case. Support training all members of staff in food hygiene and allergen awareness training. Carry out sampling checks on raw materials and finished products every shift Carry out environment checks including operators, station, equipment and floor swabbing as well as water and air sampling Carry out random finished product gas and pack integrity seal checks. Monitor the temperature of the environment and of product on a regular basis as specified by the Technical Manager. Check the weight of the finished packs to ensure compliance with average weight or fixed weight legislation Carry out shift checks on the operation of checkweighers and metal detectors in compliance with the procedures and to check related process records are documented correctly. Carry out weekly temperature probe and scale calibrations. Check/calibrate the gas analyser on a daily basis Place non-conforming product on hold and to ensure any necessary corrective action is carried out. Monitoring and reporting internal and external non-conformances to the Quality Assurance Manager, update monthly KPI’s. Carry out process control audits of the production operation to ensure compliance with customer codes of practice and company procedures and policies. Monitor, verify and report any issues daily on all shifts. Maintain, review and update the PLU’s of each supplier within their correct specification from each product on MCG and Bizerba. Carry out Glass and Hard Plastic Audits within the factory. Actively partake in the resolution of quality related issues. Assist in writing site QMS in accordance with BRC policies and procedures. Requirements: Quality Assurance Technician background ideaL Food industry ideally, or FMCG High attention to detail Excellent problem solving & analysis ability Knowledge of a high risk factory environment would be ideal Experience of a manufacturing environment essential.
