HGV SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000pa (salary is negotiable for the right person)
Hours: HGV Late Shift Supervisor = Monday to Friday 10:30am - 20:00pm
My client, a fleet repair company, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HGV Shift Supervisor to join their site in Liverpool. The Workshop Supervisor role will be a hands-on role, approximately 80% hands-on and 20% paperwork/admin.
Aim of the role:
1. To maintain and repair vehicles in accordance with Company Policy.
2. To apply professional technical methods and standards.
3. To communicate with the Customer and maintenance desk during and after maintenance/repair processes.
4. To complete a given workload in an expected timely manner.
5. To complete and submit all associated documentation in a timely manner.
6. To accept technical training from internal and external sources.
7. To respect equipment provided by the company.
8. To hold or be prepared to train for the relevant licences to drive or test vehicles and equipment.
9. To have knowledge of the DVSA standards for heavy and light vehicles.
10. To observe the company’s documented safe working practices and Risk Assessment.
11. To maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA.
* Report reoccurring manufacturer issues to the Manager.
* Assist in coordinating repairs on company assets.
* Ensure vehicles are maintained in line with the service planner.
* Undertake vehicle and equipment inspections, service, and repairs.
* Be organized and demonstrate good diagnostic ability.
* Problem solving is a must.
* Maintain a good attitude to housekeeping.
* Able to implement processes and efficient workflow.
* Ensure high repair standards.
* Hold Industry recognized training qualifications, City & Guilds, NVQs or equivalents.
* Be familiar with modern fault code reader diagnostic systems.
* Have a wide range knowledge of light vehicles to HGV vehicles.
* Ensure all parts are booked out of stock and allocated to the correct vehicle.
* Support a team environment.
* Participate in any required training and development.
* Promote a safety and environmental culture.
* Ensure workshop and yard areas comply with Health and Safety legislation.
