Job Title: Registered Manager Location: Formby Salary: £50,596-£56,759 About the Role: We're looking for a compassionate, skilled, and driven Registered Manager to lead our children's residential care home. Reporting to the Children's Service Lead, your primary responsibility will be to create a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive and reach their full potential. You will oversee all aspects of the home, managing a dedicated team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the wellbeing of every child in our care. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the home, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation. Develop staff skills and manage all people-related matters, including recruitment and performance. Maintain a positive and supportive environment that maximizes staff potential. Care Delivery: Provide high-quality, therapeutic care and advocacy for children and young people. Ensure the staff team is equipped to deliver the highest standards of care. Governance and Compliance: Oversee regulatory inspections, ensuring standards align with Ofsted requirements. Implement robust care and medication practices, safeguarding procedures, and comprehensive record-keeping. Partnerships and Collaboration: Work closely with local authorities, parents, and other stakeholders. Actively participate in Nugent's leadership meetings and operational management discussions. Safeguarding and Health & Safety: Act as the designated safeguarding lead, responding to concerns immediately. Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed, and that the premises are secure and well-maintained. What We're Looking For: Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential). Experience: Significant experience working with young people in residential care (essential). Proven supervisory and management experience within children's residential care (essential). Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of child development, Children's Homes Regulations (2015), and therapeutic interventions. Ability to lead a team, manage challenging behaviour positively, and provide high-quality care and advocacy. Excellent communication skills, strong IT proficiency, and experience in preparing accurate and professional reports.
