Job Description:
Role Purpose
To provide planning, management, and timely delivery of approved technical projects, covering but not limited to, Networks, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and Data. With a successful track record in the delivery of Technical IT projects, you will be able to command respect with technical teams and stakeholders alike due to your vast experience of successfully implementing technology projects to time, cost and quality constraints. This will free our technical teams to do what they do best, while you take ownership of project planning and coordination, budget, 3rd party, and expectation management, and successful project delivery that culminates with a smooth transition to (BAU) support. Your experience will help to manage the growing demands of this evolving business and ensure that our technology infrastructure remains relevant, secure, scalable, and up-to-date. The scope of the role will include delivery of both Strategic foundational technology projects and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, with a level of concurrent delivery expected. This is an exciting role that will be integral to maintaining and optimising the ongoing Fortnum’s technology landscape, during a very exciting time of our historic journey.
Responsibilities
Operational
1. Work with the Director of Technology to deliver the prioritised Foundational Technology Projects and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
2. Successfully deliver the technology projects and CI initiatives within Technology.
3. Develop best practice and ways of working specific for Technical Project Delivery (within the wider Fortnum’s Project framework, which includes project gateways).
4. Implement Project governance and standards across the technology team.
5. Support the Director of Technology to increase visibility of active project initiatives and benefits.
6. Ensure that Project Roles and Responsibilities are clearly understood, especially by the Networks, Infrastructure, Cyber, and Data teams within the context of the wider business objectives.
7. Manage project timelines and manage stakeholder expectations.
8. Translate technology requirements into detailed project deliverables for teams to follow.
9. Plans, schedules, monitors and reports on Foundational Technology Projects.
10. Identify and manage project resource requirement and requests (which in most cases will need to be balanced against BAU support requirements).
11. Actively manage project RAID logs.
12. Ensure Infrastructure test plans are actively developed and that project deliverables are successfully tested.
13. Actively engage with and support the Fortnum’s CAB process, ensuring all technology project/CI related changes are appropriately planned, approved, managed and communicated.
14. Engage with the relevant team to ensure that acceptance into service documentation is completed and approved before the go live of any new services.
15. Ensure project and BAU support documentation is completed and maintained to the appropriate standard to facilitate ongoing support of project deliverables.
16. Manage and report project expenditure (including timesheet accuracy), providing accurate forecast to complete, and early warning of any expected under/overspend.
17. Ensure completed projects are correctly closed and that lessons learnt are documented and applied (where appropriate) to future projects.
18. Lead the project team – provide governance, set expectations and standards.
19. Ensure feedback mechanism for technology resources to provide input into delivery and plans.
20. Plan and lead regular project team meetings.
21. Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
22. Manage and support third parties working for or in conjunction with our overall project requirements, ensuring that they meet our standards and ways of working, and that we satisfy any dependencies they may have of us.
23. Support project related contract reviews with procurement, legal and key third-party vendors in the network, infrastructure, cyber, and data space.
24. Keep up to date with trends and new ways of working and emerging trends within the project delivery and technical infrastructure space.
25. Be the point of escalation for your project teams – and manage expectations from the business and team.
Role Specific Criteria
* Retail industry experience.
* Project Delivery experience using these recognized methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum etc).
* Experience running multiple concurrent projects.
* Ability to build and motivate project teams around a common outcome or objective.
* Project Planning (ideally using MS-Excel/Project, or an online tool such as Monday.com, Asana, etc).
* Proactive RAID Management (demonstrable experience of risk mitigation approaches).
* Budget Management (Management of project finances).
* Delivery of Hardware Deployment / Upgrade / Retirement projects.
* Delivery of core infrastructure & networking Deployment / Upgrade / Retirement projects.
* Influencing and decision making.
* Communication skills both verbal and written being clear, fluent and concise.
* Listening, facilitation and presentation skills.
* Resource Management (including matrix management).
* Delivery of Software Deployment / Upgrade / Removal projects.
* Delivery of Cyber related projects (e.g. addressing risks identified through planned Penetration Testing etc.).
* Delivery of ITO projects (NOC, system monitoring and alerting etc).
* Project Hypercare and Service Transition.
* Experience of NIST (Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover) security framework.
Technologies/Qualifications
* PRINCE2/Agile/SCRUM certification.
* Cisco, Meraki, SD WAN.
* ITIL Certification.
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations.
* Team player.
