About the Role:A highly motivated and experienced Senior SEN Officer is required to join a dynamic team. Reporting to the SEN Manager, the role involves overseeing a small team of Assessment and Case Coordinators, ensuring the Local Authority meets its statutory responsibilities in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading and managing a team to ensure effective delivery of statutory processes for children and young people with SEND (aged 0-14 or 14-25).
2. Ensuring timely decision-making regarding transport eligibility and providing evidence for appeals.
3. Overseeing the collection and analysis of data to respond to complaints, enquiries, and SENDT appeals within statutory timelines.
4. Developing and implementing systems that uphold person-centred planning, keeping the voice of the child central to decision-making.
5. Ensuring transparent and clear communication with parents/carers to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
6. Leading workforce development, supporting staff well-being, and creating a positive work environment.
