To learn and understand the indications and contra-indications for exercise tolerance testing, how to operate the required equipment and support physiologist led exercise stress testing (2nd operator). To make judgements within own area of competence, identifying the correct application of procedure and when to report a problem or contra indication.
Obtain a brief medical history from patients to ensure all assessments undertaken are done so safely and appropriately. To have a knowledge and understanding of a range of health and safety measures, infection prevention and control, their importance, and their application within your work area.
To be competent in basic Cardio-Pulmonary resuscitation techniques and, following appropriate training, be proficient in intermediate life support. To respond to emergency situations whilst maintaining professional standards and seeking assistance when required effectively, promptly and professionally.
