About the role: The Export Control Lead is an integral member of the Legal & Export Control team and is responsible for providing support to the Head of Export Control to ensure that JFD remain compliant in all aspects relating to US export compliance regulations, inclusive of US Department of State, US Department of Commerce, and Office of Foreign Assets Control, as well as providing support to strategic export initiatives and operational export requirements. The role would also overlap with key elements of managing UK export controls, to provide the business with increased levels of resilience within the export control function. Some intermittent travel to other JFD locations may be required. There may also be some need to support the compliance requirements arising from other overseas locations, such as Sweden and Australia, to ensure further resilience within the team. Principle Accountabilities: There will be a wide range of export focused activities, which are aligned toward maintaining all mandatory levels of US and UK export compliance: Act as principal Point of Contact (POC) for US export compliance related bid enquires and programmes. Provide guidance, direction and oversight to assure ongoing adherence to applicable US and UK export compliance regulations, inclusive of overseas JFD locations. Manage commodity jurisdiction and classification requests from USML and CCL. Manage administration requirements in line with UK export licence requests, EAR licence requests, ITAR general correspondence and ITAR release through F680. Provide subject matter expertise for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct export control reviews and restricted party screenings. Manage PV Grading and F680 approval requirements for JFD UK business. Support obtaining of all necessary export licences and authorisations for the business. Maintain mandatory records and supporting documentation. Support global Export Control function with ad-hoc enquires. Support internal and external audits as required. Who are we looking for? You will need the ability to learn, absorb and apply complex export compliance regulations against various bid opportunities and ongoing programmes. Be able to communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders, especially with regard to relaying mandatory legislation requirements. Demonstrate a positive track record in proactively improving and managing complex procedural systems. Have strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills along with excellent organisational skills and demonstrable levels of tenacity. Qualifications and Experience: Demonstrable relevant experience in an export compliance related environment. Understanding and experience of International trade regulations. Excellent attention to detail alongside ability to operate autonomously with complex data sets against strict deadlines. Experience of working with multiple IT systems, including Government based compliance portals and platforms. Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ideally you will have experience of managing complex implementation or improvement projects within an international trade or compliance environment. Exposure to working with site security requirements would also be advantageous. You will need to be able to pass security clearance for this role and also have the right to work and reside in the UK.
