Overview of therole
To provide project managementexpertise into Delkias portfolio delivering key projects comprisingproduct process and system development. The postholder willcontribute to the enhancement of Delkias project managementframework to ensure current and future projects within Delkia aredelivered in line with best practice project managementtechniques.
Keyresponsibilities
The ProjectManager has primary responsibility for defining planning trackingand managing the project(s) to which they are assigned. Projectswill involve stakeholders from different areas of the businessregulatory bodies the external Delkia community and suppliers.
The postholder is responsible for leading theproject resources to ensure the project objectives areaccomplished. They must understand when project exceptions need tobe escalated through the governance processes ensuring options andrecommendations for resolution are identified. The postholder willhave the personal and professional experience to build and managemeaningful and supportive relationships across the portfolio teamproject teams and with internal and external stakeholders asrequired throughout the delivery cycle.
Limitsof authority will be as defined for individual projects and mayvary dependent on the type and scale of the projects beingdelivered. In all cases governance structures will ensure theProject Manager has the delegated authority to successfully deliverproject outcomes.
KeyResponsibilities andMeasures
* Workcollaboratively with the Project Teams to deliver the assignedproject to defined cost schedule and quality requirements leadingto a successful handover.
* Support TenderSubmissions from a Project Managementperspective.
* Prepare schedules and monitorprogress against establishedbaselines.
* Tracking and monitoring projectspending and reporting variances using Earned Value Management(EVM) techniques.
* Establishing and maintainweekly reporting by setting up regular internal and external teammeetings.
* Prepare meeting packs/presentationscapturing minutes agreed actions updating teams and seniormanagement.
* Positively influence keystakeholders (both internal & external) associated with theproject.
* Developing and maintaining projectdocumentation templates.
* Ensuring all projectdeliverables are completed in line with theschedule.
* Identify potential dependenciesassumptions risks exceptions opportunities (DAREO) project problemsmitigation contingencies and implement corrective actions.Highlighting where updates or escalations arerequired.
* Play an active part in LessonsIdentified process across all projects and embed a culture ofcontinuous improvement.
* Maintain establishedprocesses and develop new as required.
* Takeownership and pride in your work and promoting project managementsuccess through the team.
* Manage proposedchanges to project parameters e.g. scope budget schedules.
* Monitor the quality of project deliverablesand ensure project objectives are met.
* Conductproject meetings and attend programme and portfolio meetings whererequired.
* Establish effective workingrelationships with all key stakeholders.
* Provenexperience of effective working with those with specialistknowledge andexpertise.
Qualifications/ Prerequisites:
* Degree(or working to) in Project Management(desirable)
* APM Project ManagementQualification (desirable)
* Knowledge of NEC3contracts desirable)
* Proven experience ofdelivering projects to time cost andquality
* Successful experience of translatinganalysis into practicalimplementation
* Proficient with the fullMicrosoft Office suite
* Schedule baselinecreation and management
* Detail orientated highstandard of accuracy &quality
