The role
We are seeking a Project/ Operations Manager to facilitate the successful delivery of a start-up venture - the Circular Agriculture Hub.
We are looking for someone to manage, co-ordinate and take responsibility/advise on all administrative aspects such as planning, reporting, finance or budget, recruitment and procurement. They will also act as a key point of contact for internal and external researchers, internal and/or external collaborators, funders or other Professional Services support staff.
This opportunity be part be of a transformative venture that has the potential to revolutionise the UK food system and create significant social impact. The Hub operates between the University of Bristol and the University of Nottingham. This will be a hybrid working role with the majority of the time remote working but there will be some in-person events. This is a 0.6FTE (60% time) part-time role between 2-3 days a week. Working schedule to be confirmed at appointment but will require some flexibility from the role holder.
What will you be doing?
* Support in implementing the strategic business plan for CAH
* Oversee and implement the day-to-day operations of the venture, working with the project team and co-founders
* Supporting successful exchanges between farmers and users of surplus produce
* Manage the logistics of user exchanges, liaising with relevant organisations to facilitate this
* Manage stakeholder relationships, including farmers, food producers, community food organisations, food hubs, logistics companies
* Involvement in the development of the marketplace, ensuring it meets the needs of all users
* Act as a public-facing representative for CAH, participating in events relevant to our users
You should apply if
Required Experience and Skills
* Proven track record in operations management ideally with startups or social enterprises, preferably in the agri-food, technology, or sustainability sectors
* Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders, across different sectors, community groups
* High level of digital literacy, experienced in Excel, MS Office, Power Apps
* Experience in digital marketplaces
* Understanding of the UK food system
* Ability to maintain strong networks and relationships across relevant sectors (e.g., agriculture, food retail, social enterprise)
* Excellent communication skills, experience of communicating effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders
* Excellent time management and timely delivery of outputs
