As an AO Case Liaison Assistant within the CLT, you will be a member of the team responsible for monitoring the CLT Correspondence box. This is where all correspondence regarding detainees is sent (internally and externally). Correspondence is either via numerous emails into the CLT Correspondence box (from a wide range of sources including detainees, representatives, Immigration Enforcement Teams, and Detention Centres). The role also includes answering numerous telephone enquiries that come into the team. All correspondence/calls and actions taken must be recorded, and the appropriate Immigration teams notified. This can be a fast-paced role, particularly when charter flights (returning detainees to their country) are due to leave the UK, hence the need for shift work as there are numerous representations made within 24 hours of the flights leaving.
* Officers working within the CLT must be able to prioritise their workload in order to identify correspondence that needs actioning immediately. They need to be confident in speaking to detainees and their representatives and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Previous experience of working with ATLAS or CID is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
* IT literate.
