Job Purpose: To support the effective and efficient operation and administration of Weymouth’s Greenspaces service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Allotment administration, including proactive management of plot holders and waiting lists, as well as producing reports using allotment database and enhancements.
2. Completion of monthly allotment inspections and take compliance actions when necessary.
3. Respond to queries, complaints and compliments relating to allotments and greenspaces.
4. Administer play area inspections, ensuring appropriate records are kept and repairs are undertaken promptly where required. Support Greenspaces Manager with projects to enhance play areas. Carry out and update risk assessments relating to play areas.
5. Creation and organisation of community events to be held in Greenspaces areas, as well as working with other colleagues/organisations that wish to use these spaces for other events, ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed.
6. Follow WTC processes to procure goods and services.
7. Manage footfall counters, including using associated software to process and analyse data.
8. Support the Greenspaces team with cemeteries and health and safety administration.
9. Apply website updates where required to ensure that all information regarding Greenspaces is kept up to date.
10. Provide general administrative support, including data entry, document management, office support and research.
11. Confidently use all relevant systems and programmes (Outlook, Excel, etc.) to produce high quality documents that aid the productivity and ongoing work of the Greenspaces operation.
12. Use of ‘Safety Culture’ to complete and/or record inspections for gardens, play areas, allotments and cemeteries.
13. Mapping of assets using the ‘Parish Online’ system.
14. Learn the basics of Bereavement Services, including booking burials, grave ownership transfers, location of graves and liaising with funeral directors.
15. Support the wider work of the Greenspaces team, providing assistance and cover as needed.
The duties and responsibilities of the post are not restrictive and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties from time to time. Any such duties should, however, not substantially change the general character of the post.

Pay: Up to £27,803.00 per year
