Our client’s clinic is in a beautiful part of Suffolk, with plenty of lovely countryside around the lovely town of Woodbridge, very close to the popular Suffolk Coast, Heathland, Woodland and some fabulous beaches. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join the team.
The branch is the main surgical base, consultations and nurse clinics are also carried out here. They have all the usual toys including x-ray, dental x-ray, and ultrasound facilities. They have separate cat and dog kennels, dedicated theatre facilities, a spacious prep area and a separate dental suite. They are so lucky to have an excellent support team (receptionists, nurses, etc) and the lovely profile of long-standing clients.
There are 2.5 veterinary surgeons, one who is a certificate holder in ophthalmology and another vet who is a CertAVP. The experience of the current team ranges from 30 years to two fantastic recent graduates who are working through their graduate programmes, including two senior vets who have a vast array of knowledge and experience and are very happy to support and learn as necessary. There are 4 RVN's, 2 student nurses, and a team of very competent VCA’s and receptionists in order to make a vet’s life as easy as possible.
The ideal candidate will be a competent surgeon with an interest in medical cases. Ideally an all-round general practitioner who is looking to progress in their career. Maybe you’re feeling a leaning towards imaging, or orthopaedics, maybe you have a certificate and are looking to use it passing on your knowledge to the rest of the team. Either way, they are looking for someone with a proven track record in great service, excellent client retention, and a love of all the variation that first opinion work brings. You will have a flexible working approach to work at two sites.
The client is open to full or part time hours ranging from 20-40 hours per week. Full time shifts would be 40 hours across 4 days. 1:4 Saturdays recovered as TOIL the following Friday, so you get a lovely long weekend. No out of hours work required. The rota is fixed several months in advance (unless in exceptional circumstances) and you will only work at one site per day. Salary would be up to £68,000 depending on experience.
Ideally you will be a people person who is happy to work well with both clients and as part of a team. You will have ample experience to bring to the role and be able to provide a new set of skills to the existing team. You will be empathetic but steadfast in your decision making and have excellent communication skills and a willingness to develop yourself and the business. Flexibility and knowledge of different business models would also be a benefit.
