Salary: Pay scale WA4-10 to WA4-16 FTE: A£24,133-A£27,663, Actual: A£2,306-A£2,643, plus instructor rate A£20.00 for 4 hours
Hours: Session (4 hours), Thursday each week, term time only 9am - 1pm
The School converted to Academy status on 1st September 2018 and is part of the Multi Academy Trust. They are a special school for secondary pupils from Years 7 to 11 who have learning and additional needs.
The Role
They require a Cafà Project Lead to work each Thursday 9am-1pm, term time only.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead group of students on half termly rota
2. Around 8 students
3. Supported by teaching assistant(s)
4. Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets diverse needs of our students
5. Support students in developing:
1. Teamwork
2. Independence
3. Communication skills
4. Hospitality skills
5. Confidence
6. Experience in a cafe type setting
7. Cooking skills and knowledge
6. Work from and adapt scheme of learning to best support learners
7. Promote an inclusive classroom
8. Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents and colleagues
9. Manage orders for ingredients for the cafÃ
10. Plan and lead well-structured sessions to bring about positive outcomes.
11. Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of students
12. Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
13. Promote good progress and outcomes by students
14. Implement the school's policies, practices and procedures, so as to support the school's values and vision
15. Provide cover, in the planned or unforeseen circumstance that you are unable to teach
16. Promote the safety and wellbeing of students
17. Maintain good order and discipline among students, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
18. Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues
19. Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school
20. Have proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school, and maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality
21. Understand and act within the statutory frameworks setting out their professional duties and responsibilities.

1. Numerate and literate to GCSE or equivalent standard
2. High standard of communication, both verbal and written
