We have a part time Occupational Health Technician role available within TATA Steel's Shotton Works. Shotton Works are responsible for producing over 500,000 tonnes of metallic coated and pre finished steel per year. Role: Occupational Health Technician Location: TATA Steel, Shotton Works Deeside Flintshire CH5 2NH (100% office based) Rate: £14.22ph Contract length: 6 months initially with the view to extend Shift Patterns: X2 days per week (8 hours per day), ideally MonTue each week (flexible). Hours between 08:30 and 16:45 Start: ASAP (within 1-3 weeks) Responsibilities: Performing health assessments, fitness to work assessments and health surveillance Aiming to prevent ill health in the workplace for all departments within Shotton works Liaising with outside agencies, health care professionals, contractors, TATA employees and senior management Identifying and reporting deviations from normal standards Conducting substance and alcohol tests Organising and coordinating health surveillance appointments Keeping the database maintained effectively Producing accurate written, electronic and verbal reports Maintaining confidentiality at all times Essential requirements: NVQ level 3 qualification - Occupational Health and Safety (minimum) Practical UK based Occupational Health experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Confidence working as a lone worker when needed Good literacy and numeracy skill Previous experience conducting substance and alcohol tests Confidence working under minimal guidance Desirable requirements: Driving licence and use of a car Previous UK based Occupational Health experience within a manufacturing, industrial or production environment Benefits: Advice and editing on your current CV Dedicated team throughout your journey within the role Paid holiday Exclusive online services including restaurant and retail discounts Chance to receive £300 for referring a friend Opportunity for progression into permanent roles Competitive rates of pay All applicants are subject to vetting checks including but not limited to: Right to work check, medical check and reference check.
