An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Income team. We are a team that delivers high performance and good customer service and continue to see monthly reductions in rent arrears for Dudley council in what is a challenging financial time for all. This temporary vacancy is for the role of Assistant Team Manager, working within the Income Team. The purpose of the role is to assist the Team Manager with the delivery of a comprehensive, customer-focused, efficient, and effective income management service. This involves supervising a team in the maximization of income, debt recovery, and providing support, advice, information, and guidance to customers to avoid financial difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Experience of staff supervision/line management.
2. Demonstrate significant operational experience delivering Housing Management/Income Management, including the application of Housing legislation.
3. Ability to work across departments and directorates to ensure efficient and effective joined-up working across the Council.
4. Demonstrate the delivery of services in relation to welfare reforms and changing legislation.
5. Experience of dealing with conflict, negotiation, and direct management.
6. Demonstrate experience of performance monitoring/reporting and delivering improvement plans as a result of analysis.
7. Sound knowledge of accepted good practice in service delivery within the social housing sector and income-related services.
