Programme Director Animation
School of Film, Media & Performing Arts
The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is looking for an experienced academic to become Programme Director for our Performing Arts portfolio at our Farnham campus.
The Animation courses have been running for over 60 years very successfully. Graduates have attained great achievements including Academy Award and BAFTA winners, as well as establishing franchises such as Peppa Pig and Hey Duggee. The Programme consists of BA and MA Animation courses and sits in the School of Film, Media and Performing Arts.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with creativity, skill, enthusiasm and experience to lead our undergraduate and postgraduate staff and students, as we seek to deepen our connections with industry and help define the global agenda across these disciplines.
You will provide effective leadership, maintaining and developing recruitment, retention, curriculum and assessment, ensuring that the delivery of the courses is carried out in accordance with the mission, policies and regulations of the University.
You will be responsible for a significant cohort of students, ensuring that staff and resources are managed effectively. They will be a line-manager responsible for the performance of the course team, ensuring full engagement in a range of activities including teaching, development of learning materials, research and scholarly activity, industry engagement, course administration, curriculum development and recruitment and retention strategies.
You will be part of the School Management Team, reporting to the Director of School and working closely with other Programme Directors to lead and support the wider strategic activities of the School, including portfolio development, recruitment and research.
Through your application you will be able to demonstrate your academic, professional and administrative achievements, as well as your excellent management and leadership skills in motivating and directing a team, inspiring and engaging them and their students to achieve excellence.
You will have a good honours and postgraduate degree, professional experience and knowledge of current educational issues and critical understanding of the social, cultural, economic and environmental factors influencing Performing Arts today.
