Position: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Purpose of the role:
The Maintenance Engineer will have overall responsibility to conduct proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs for all machines within EMP.
Scope & Relationships:
Where possible you will act as site service for all general repairs and services and will be the main point of contact for organising and coordinating with external contractors for the site. Additionally, you will conduct ad-hoc minor repairs on site and also have the responsibility for developing daily, weekly, and monthly PPM’s for all machines and subsequent monitoring.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
* General maintenance of machines, including but not limited to general upkeep, servicing, and repairs.
* Conducting and recording regular maintenance checks in accordance with legislation/policy (i.e. Risk assessment and work permits).
* Co-ordinate contractors on site as and when required, issuing and recording the permits to work.
* Respond and record findings immediately of regular safety checks to prevent failure or performance deterioration of machines and supportive equipment.
* Ensuring safety is adhered to at all times (i.e. Machine tool, guards, stop switches, and safety devices, fixing or reporting any faults immediately) liaise with Production Manager, with solution or recommendation.
* General site servicing and housekeeping.
* Advise others of safety matters that arise wherever possible.
* Sourcing and ordering of machine spares and maintenance supplies.
* Understand drawings and machine manuals.
* To comply with all reasonable requests made by the Production Manager.
* To observe and comply with Company Health and Safety policy.
* Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping at all times.
Experience:
* Background in mechanical engineering/mechatronics.
* Electrical knowledge.
* Ability to read drawings and understand manuals.
* Strong communication skills.

* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adhere to tight deadlines, multitask, and prioritize.
* Fast-paced and proactive.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* A flexible approach and willingness to work additional hours in order to meet the needs of the business.
* Ability to logically fault find.
