Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Sister/Charge Nurse on AMAU in Prince Philip Hospital. The unit comprises of 3 resus beds, 19 Assessment beds, 2 surge beds, and an ambulatory unit consisting of 6 spaces. The unit supports operational demand.
You will be expected to ensure a high standard of care is delivered for our patients and work closely with the Site, SDEC & MIU team within a positive and challenging environment.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead the team with a strong emphasis on keeping the patients at the center of everything we do.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Registered Nurse (Part 1)
* Current NMC Registration
* Pertinent post-graduate diploma (or equivalent development/experience and a willingness to undertake appropriate post-graduate diploma level study)
* Recognised management qualification.
Experience
* Appropriate experience within specialty and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant specialty
* Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of NMC Code (2015)
* Experience of working in a multi-professional environment
* Experience of running a ward/area/department
* Experience of working with pre-registration nursing/midwifery students
* Experience of formal/informal teaching and mentoring pre-registration nursing or midwifery students.
* Understanding of wider nursing and healthcare-related agenda
* Supervisory management skills
* Able to relate theory into practice through reflective skills
* Experience of coordinating a team
* Experience of facilitating learning in and from practice
