Job title: Safety Health &Environment Manager Reporting to: Managing Director & Plant Manager Designation and number of the directly subordinate positions 0 Objective of the position: Todevelopandmaintainahealthandsafetyandenvironmentalmanagementsystemandprovide a support service to line management to ensure safe systems of work are in place and complied with, and to ensure full legal compliance of the company in safety health and environmental matters for the UK Plant. Duties& Responsibilities: Todevelopandmaintainahealth,safetyandenvironmentalmanagement system. To provide advice on matters of health safety and environmental requirements to all levels of line management in a proactive manner. To ensure all accidents / incidents / unsafe acts and conditions are reported, recorded and fully investigatedtodeterminerootcause.Whereapplicabletoreportsuchinstances tothe HSE under RIDDOR requirements. Toprovideasupportingservicetolinemanagementinahandsonapproachtocomplywith all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation. Youwillalsoberequestedtoworkoutsideofthesehoursasandwhenrequiredbytheneeds of the business. Toensurethatallpersonnelwithineachdepartmentadheretosafeworkingprocedures, and that these are reviewed and updated as necessary. Toensurethatriskassessmentsforallknownhazardsareinplaceand maintained. To ensure that all employees are s uitably trained to carry out their work safely without risk to themselves, others or the environment. Tokeepthemanagementteamupdatedonrequirementsofandchangestolegislation under health safety and environment. Toprovideperformancereportsandsettargetsandobjectivesforimprovementsandrisk reduction. To determine and arrange any required monitoring for health safety or environmental purposes. Toensurehealthsafetyandenvironmentalissuesarecommunicatedsuitablytoall staff. ProvidethePlantManagerDirectorwithweeklyandmonthlyreportsthat highlight: o All accident/incident occurrences. o All identified risks which arent controlled o Departmental performances on SHE o Personnel issues Ensure the Plant Manager Director is kept informed on all key issues. Inlinewithothermanagementlevelpostswithintheorganisation,thisrolewillundertake general investigations and/or disciplinaries meetings as required. Required skills,abilities, knowledge: Specialised knowledge(Education and experience): Relevant Industry Health &Safety qualifications and accreditations(e.g.IOSH,NEBOSH, relevant subject university degrees) Proven track record in managing site health& safety issues at a senior level and advising management and responding with appropriate actions. Action Skills: Enjoys working hard; is actions oriented and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging. TechnicalSkills:Hasasoundfunctionalandtechnicalknowledgeofproduction processes.
