Job Overview: The Principal Operations Engineer shall be responsible for the preparation and execution of pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning operations. The Project field is located offshore in 750m water depth and includes pre-commissioning of the following systems via subsea based pipeline flooding, pipeline pressure testing and umbilical pressure testing skids. The scope extends to subsea post installation electrical testing via C-Kore cable monitors. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Work at site as required by the project through to mechanical completion in Q2 2025 (London based with travel to the site in Africa during project execution phase). Support at pre-commissioning subcontractor facility during the month of mobilization (January 2025). Monitor the final stage of readiness while ensuring equipment and personnel meet project requirements. Attend function testing, project briefings and procedure alignment sessions prior to mobilization. Oversee final development of pre-commissioning philosophies for Project’s offshore pipeline and umbilical works. Final development of detailed planning for all work locations and maintain the planning in real time. Oversee final engineering and planning for the timely execution of the work scope. Final review of internal and external deliverables (drawings, reports, procedures, risk assessments, scopes of work, subcontracts). Follow up on equipment and installation aids. Validate the pre-commissioning spreads. Final check of pre-commissioning procedures. Readiness preparation. Coordinate mobilizing pre-commissioning equipment to execute work scopes. Coordinate testing and load-out of pre-commissioning equipment and installation aids. Coordinate the execution of offshore pre-commissioning work scopes. Coordinate the demobilization of the pre-commissioning equipment, and the off-hire of subcontract equipment. Final alignment of interfaces with Company Contractor’s and technical queries with Company. Support on achieving commercial objectives. Project close out inclusive of return of experience document and lessons learned. Qualifications and Capabilities: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Extensive knowledge & experience of offshore EPCIC projects including execution, safety management, budget control, schedule control and quality control management. Familiar with international codes and standards. Good communication, coordination and organizing skills the ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively and efficiently with other team members and stakeholders. Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and integrity. Stakeholder Management skills - Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties. Delivery orientated. Able to manage time and meet deadlines. Required Experience: 15 plus years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Major Contractors. The following experience is required – General experience of all shallow and deepwater water installation operations. Rigid & flexible pipeline pre-commissioning experience - execution of a minimum of 20 projects. Umbilical pre-commissioning experience - execution of a minimum of 6 projects
