Senior Pre Assessment Clinical Nurse
Band 6
Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pre Assessment Nurse to join our established assessment service within our JAG accredited Endoscopy Unit.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will participate in innovation and evidence based nursing practice through professional leadership to enhance the patient's endoscopy experience from referral through to procedure, dealing with any concerns and supporting the clinical teams.
The successful candidate will coordinate hosting telephone and face to face pre assessment clinics for patients requiring endoscopy procedures. Travel between units will be required to undertake Pre-Assessment of patients.
Main duties of the job
The pre assessment nurse will address any issues that may arise prior to patients attending for their endoscopy procedures such as the management of the patients' medications and assessing any pre-existing medical conditions which could impact their endoscopy procedure.
The pre assessment nurse will also offer clear guidance on bowel preparation and advise the patient on their diet pre procedure.
These clinics aim to enhance the patient's endoscopy experience from referral through to procedure, particularly by putting the patient's mind at ease by answering any questions and dealing with any concerns.
