Exam Invigilators (Ad Hoc / Supply)

Pay: £13.68 - £16.29 per hour
We are currently seeking reliable and professional Exam Invigilators to work on a supply basis across secondary schools in Barnsley. This is a flexible, term-time opportunity ideal for individuals looking to support students during key assessment periods throughout the academic year.
About the Role:
As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in the smooth and fair running of public examinations, including GCSEs and mock exams. You will ensure that students are able to sit their exams in a calm, supportive, and strictly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the preparation of the examination room
* Distribute and collect examination papers and materials
* Supervise candidates throughout the exam duration
* Deal with queries and incidents according to exam procedures
* Maintain the integrity and security of the examination process
Person Specification:
* Excellent punctuality and attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow clear procedures
* Flexible and dependable, with a professional attitude
* Previous invigilation experience is advantageous but not essential - full training will be provided
* An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Working Hours:
This is an ad hoc position during exam seasons - primarily in May/June, with additional opportunities in October/November and throughout the academic year for mock exams and resits. Morning and afternoon sessions are available.
