Service area: Locality Wellbeing and Safeguarding
A revitalised sense of focus and energy is taking our Adult Services in an exciting direction and we want you to help us to make the changes we know are needed. That’s why we need a qualified and resilient Senior Social Worker to help us achieve our aims.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Social Worker to be based in the Review Team in Beverley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social worker to take a proactive role, expanding and developing their skills; and to take the next step in their professional career within a well-established local authority. The Review Team covers the whole of the East Riding of Yorkshire, as well as supporting in care homes outside the area. The Review Team also completes focused pieces of work, such as care home closures.
The role of Senior Social Worker will be to work as an autonomous professional, demonstrating expert and effective practice in complex situations. This will include supporting the team to manage reviews of care packages funded by East Riding of Yorkshire County using a strengths-based approach to ensure that the care provided continues to meet people’s needs.
The focus will be on supporting and enabling people and carers to actively stay well and independent, build and maintain family and social networks whilst working to protect people from harm. The role will be active in supporting the Team Manager with the daily operational functions of the team as well as working collaboratively with partners.
You must be a registered social worker with experience in adult social care settings. You must demonstrate a good knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and ability to work within the legislative framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and the Human Rights Act. Knowledge of safeguarding adults and working within safeguarding procedures is key to this role.
You must have excellent communication skills, the resilience to work under pressure, and be flexible in your approach. There is an expectation that you will undertake the formal supervision of qualified social work staff. This will be in addition to giving expert knowledgeable advice and guidance to the safeguarding team on a daily basis.
In return, the successful post holder can expect to work as part of a strong team, receive regular professional supervision, and have access to quality training. Develop your interests, expand your knowledge, and become an expert at what you do.
The Council offers many remote working opportunities as part of our commitment to providing flexibility wherever possible for our employees.
