Workshop Engineer (35 hrs per week)
East Sussex - Full driving licence essential, at least 18 months experience.
Salary £22,659 pa
Purpose of the Role:
To provide a workshop-based engineering role for repairing, servicing and maintaining wheelchairs for Rosscare in the East Sussex area.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conduct repairs, servicing and maintenance as directed by the Warehouse Manager/Service Manager.
* Process associated paperwork accurately on a daily basis.
* FOLLOW INFECTION CONTROL POLICY AT ALL TIMES.
* Undertake Engineering work in terms of service, repairs and scrapping, being accountable for outcomes.
* Perform admin duties as required and update systems.
* Ensure all parts used are allocated through correct process and recorded on the system.
* Maintain strict adherence to Ross Care's operational procedures.
* Represent company professionally in all communication with clients.
* Participate in stocktakes as required.
* Participate in emergency call out rota and support field service duties.
Field Service:
* Conduct service calls as directed by the Warehouse Manager/Service Manager.
* Ensure vehicle is safe, clean and tidy at all times, reporting any issues.
* Process associated paperwork fully and accurately, returning it to the depot once completed.
* Adhere to Ross Care operational procedures, policies and instructions in all communication.
About this Role:
This job description outlines key responsibilities but does not limit your Workshop Engineer role. You will also be expected to carry out other duties within your capabilities and skill set, including Field Service duties in line with operational requirements.
A requirement exists to undertake driver awareness training and frequent driving assessments in respect of supporting Field Service duties.
Person Required:
* Valid full driving licence for at least 18 months.
* Ability to work to a plan and maintain organisation.
* Effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
* Background or experience in mechanical or electrical engineering welcome.
* Ideal qualifications: GCSE level/NVQ level 1 or equivalent.
* Satisfactory DBS disclosure.
* Training provided on wheelchair engineering.
* Must be trustworthy and reliable.
