The Opportunity
This company is a leading international engineering, project management, and services provider to the highly regulated nuclear, defence, oil and gas, and science and research industries. Their expertise has been developed over many years and is backed up by a highly trained, committed workforce and a wide range of specialist resources. Due to this, they are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer to join their dynamic and fast-paced team of nuclear specialists.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer, the primary purpose of your role will be to assist and support the Design Manager in the delivery of project scope. You will be responsible for:
1. Drafting technical design documentation.
2. Overseeing and supporting the generation of a 3D model and 2D CAD drawings.
3. Drafting technical queries and change records.
4. Updating or providing information to support updating extant documents.
5. Overseeing the conversion of existing design records into a 3D model.
6. Maintaining and updating the project registers of technical queries, change requests, design review requests, and design review actions.
You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience
1. Demonstrable experience and knowledge of engineering works, e.g. mechanical handling, mechanical or electrical systems/services.
2. Experience of mechanical design, including new or modification to structures and systems.
3. The ability to follow a nuclear safety led engineering process and maintain accurate records and document/drawing revision control.
4. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar software to oversee and support production of models and drawings of mechanical components with electrical harnesses.
5. Demonstrable communication skills and the ability to host and participate in design meetings across Microsoft Teams whilst working remotely and on site.
It's Great If You Also Have the Following
1. Knowledge of cranes.
2. Experience of the nuclear civil or defence industries.
