Who we need
We are looking for someone to join our Apprenticeship team at Nottingham College who is passionate about working with young people and ensuring that our students receive the best possible experience. You would be working within our Ofsted Outstanding Residential Provision.
The successful candidate will work alongside the current Wellbeing Coordinator and support the Assistant Principal for Apprenticeships and the wider Wellbeing team, to develop and deliver an effective Wellbeing and Enrichment programme to enhance the student experience. They will also support the Apprentices at the residential setting which provides a chance to obtain feedback on their experience and help create positive changes at Nottingham College. Key duties of the role include:
1. Champion a customer first approach with students, teams and colleagues to continually improve the delivery of wellbeing services.
2. Translate customer feedback into actionable improvements and maintain appropriate records, including evaluation from all activities, for monitoring purposes.
3. Act as the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice in order to safeguard the student.
4. Support the running of the cross-College Safeguarding Network, to share best practice and continually improve the College’s approach to safeguarding.
What you’ll bring
You will possess a commitment to the highest standards in delivering an exceptional customer experience, supporting student activities across a diverse and multi-site organisation. You will be a team player and motivator of people with an ability to develop positive, collaborative working relationships with partners and colleagues. You will have the confidence to tackle challenging situations using your effective problem solving and solution focused skills. Essential skills & experience include:
1. Highly effective organisation and prioritisation skills
2. Experience of carrying out a safeguarding role to include dealing with a range of issues such as abuse, neglect, radicalisation, CSE
3. Good, sound working knowledge of current safeguarding legislation, statutory and other related guidance.
4. Proven track record of working with complex issues of a difficult and sensitive nature
5. Excellent communication, negotiating, mediating and interpersonal skills, in particular, an ability to relate well to young people, parents/carers, colleagues and professionals
