What you will do
The Field Service Engineer is primarily responsible for maintaining a professional and profitable repair and preventive maintenance service business on Stryker's products while ensuring compliance with the quality system and manufacturer specifications. He/she delivers technical assistance at customer sites and provides documentation to internal and external customers.
* Advanced understanding of Medsurg product portfolio to enable technical and critical thinking and facilitate surgical procedures as well as support others using the equipment.
* Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the overall status of Stryker equipment.
* Show evidence of improving systems/processes within the Managed Service Account to improve the service offered.
* Provide education for clinical staff on the use and operation of Stryker equipment.
* Develop relationships with Sales Managers and Regional Managers outside of the Medsurg franchise.
Duties / responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for all Stryker equipment.
* Have a thorough understanding of the systems in use, be able to identify key areas of the processes/systems in use and analyse and develop them, making recommendations and implementing potential improvements.
* Follow up on any process/system improvements with thorough analysis and ability to evaluate success.
* Organise and facilitate Managed Service Meetings with the customer as well as looking to involve other franchises.
* Provide a strong communication link between the customer and all Sales Managers across the franchises.
* Work closely with the Technical Services team to organise repairs/loaners and, where necessary, carry out upgrades on equipment within the account.
* Work with MESU within the account to ensure that all equipment is tested to required standards and all procedures regarding Stryker equipment are followed.
* Be able to train new members of Managed Services on the role.
* Teach and guide new Operating Theatre Specialists or Stryker personnel using "best practices" in both Medsurg and other Stryker equipment and systems.
* Maintain and update the Managed Service handbook.
* Produce a monthly service report and record KPI data.
* General administration such as keeping track of items sent back for repair, organising couriers, etc.
Qualifications/education required:
Experience desirable:
* 1-2 years' experience in a medical environment or experience with medical equipment.
Specialist training required:
* Product training.
* Theatre Skills.
