Fibre Spinning Technician Location: Translation and Innovation Hub, 84 Wood Ln, London W12 7SL Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: 37.5 hours per week About Solena Materials: We’re a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and software developers from diverse backgrounds brought together by a passion for creating advanced materials for our customers. We are now looking for a Fibre spinning technician to join our growing team. The success applicant will assist in running our pilot lab fibre spinning line and develop together with the team our new protein-based fibres. Role responsibilities: Operate and optimize the pilot/lab line for evaluating protein spinnability under the supervision of our Head of Fibre Spinning and our Senior ScientistImprove the spinning process to increase fibre performanceSupervision, development and improvement of measuring methods for process monitoringCarrying out relevant material testsWork closely and flexibly with our interdisciplinary team of materials scientists, engineers, and synthetic biologists Role requirements: BSc in a scientific/engineering subject or equivalent work experience Experience working in fibre spinning processes is a plus Experience in handling chemicals Good documentation practice Excellent communication skills Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint Nice to have: Experience with analysing data using the Python or other programming languages Nice to have: a tinkerer mentality - you like to build and fix things on your own We offer: Competitive salary Full time position Flexible working hours Generous pension contribution and benefits Regular team events Exciting and dynamic start-up environment in well-connected White City, London A commitment to equality and valuing diversity Please include a cover letter and your current CV when applying.
