Job Title: Assistant Chef
Location: Dundee and Forfar, Broughtt Ferry
Salary: £12.55 per hour (Weekdays), £13.80 per hour (Weekends)
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Chef to join our teams in Dundee and Forfar. In this role, you will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to menu specifications
2. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
3. Help manage kitchen inventory and ensure stock is replenished
4. Support the Head Chef and other kitchen staff during meal service
5. Follow all food safety regulations and health guidelines
6. Assist in menu planning and the preparation of special dietary meals
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential
2. Strong work ethic and attention to detail
3. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team
4. Flexibility with hours, including weekends
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
